Call of Duty: Warzone Season 6 Trailer Hypes Final Confrontation Between Adler and Stitch

Call of Duty: Warzone Season 6 will bring an end to the ongoing Black Ops Cold War storyline, and it seems like it should serve as an exciting sendoff for the game. Not only will classic Black Ops protagonist Alex Mason be featured as the main Operator, but the Call of Duty: Warzone map Verdansk 84 will be taking some damage.

In the new Call of Duty: Warzone cutscene, Adler is shown strapped to a chair. Surrounded by TV screens and looking at a few agents that are staring back through some glass, the moment is a great callback to the original Black Ops game. Just like Mason was interrogated so that Hudson could break through the brainwashing, Mason helps Adler escape Stitch’s mind control process. While this is happening, Stitch is dealing with a problem in Verdansk.

Somehow, Adler was able to resist the Numbers enough to fight against Stitch while working for him. While he did help cover up the Satellite crash in Season 4, he also planted several explosives in Verdansk. Meant to slow down Stitch’s plan, the villain can be seen with a new Operator who attempts to defuse the bombs. While he does boast a unique design and a prosthetic leg, which could make him a popular playable character, he fails to successfully disarm the explosives.

As a result, Verdansk is destroyed once again. However, it is unclear just how much the map will be changed. While a crane is shown collapsing and the stadium is torn in half, this could be the extent of the damage. Either way, with this being the last Season for the current story and the new Pacific map dropping very soon, changing up Verdansk makes sense. The cutscene ends with Stitch mentioning “unfinished business” with Adler before the protagonists arrive in Verdansk.

With Alex Mason used for the main Season image, it can be expected that he will be the Operator tied to the next Call of Duty battle pass. With tons of potential for fun skins, emotes, and voice lines, he could be a terrific addition to the lineup. A damaged Verdansk map could be fun to explore as well, as it has been a while since it changed significantly. Lastly, players could be seeing a final cutscene tied to an event or easter egg, similar to how Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Warzone story came to a close.

While there is still room for Adler to die, as he did not appear in the Black Ops games set after Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, his fate is now a lot less clear. Fans will not have to wait long for answers, though, as Season 6 kicks off on October 7.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
