New Eternals Photo Gives Detailed Look At Kumail Nanjiani's Kingo Suit

Marvel Studios' Eternals has got a new teaser in the form of a fresh photo featuring actor Kumail Nanjiani. The photo in question shows Nanjiani in full costume as Kingo, who is a master swordsman.

Kingo is the best swordsman of the Eternals and he will be using weaponry as his main offensive technique when fighting in this upcoming superhero film. The trailer for Eternals teased a different variety of Eternals who all fight differently, so having a swordsman would be a unique trait to see. In addition to introducing a new set of characters, Marvel Studios' upcoming film will be also introducing the world outside of Earth. The Guardians of the Galaxy films teased other planets but didn't venture too far out into the realm with the cosmos.

Eternals are a race of cosmic beings that were created by the Celestials, who also created both the Deviants and human beings. Fans of the comic books may know that Thanos had a mixture of both Deviant and Eternals DNA, which is what made him stand out among other villains during his introduction. Eternals may dive into a little bit of the Mad Titan's history prior to his introduction into the Avengers storyline. The new photo of Nanjiani's Kingo is courtesy of Empire.

Nanjiani's Kingo has had different incarnations in the comics that vary depending on the writer. The film iteration will, again, be a deadly swordsman but during his time of hiding, he will have been lost in the idea of fame and being a celebrity. However, he must let go of this when he returns to battle with his family.

This is a unique telling of the Marvel character, and it looks to be something more contemporary that viewers and fans can relate to more than the original incarnation of the superhero. If fans don't get a chance to see more of Thanos, then hopefully they get the treat of having a new character brought into the ever-growing Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Eternals will be a new example of Disney and Marvel taking a group of characters who weren't considered popular at one point and bringing them into the mainstream in order to make them worldwide icons. They turned Iron Man into an icon, made the Guardians of the Galaxy popular, and even changed Ant-Man into a fan favorite. Now it's time for a new group of icons to rise.

Eternals will be in theaters on November 5th, 2021.
