Logitech G, a brand known for its PC and console gaming peripherals, hosts a "first-of-its-kind" Adaptive Esports Competition. Partnering with Logitech G are several organizations supporting gamers with disabilities, such as The AbleGamers Charity, Adaptive Action Sports, Beyond Entertainment, Challonge, and Mount Sinai Health System.
The main event will feature players from around the world in a 2v2 single-elimination Rocket League tournament, where a prize pool of $20,000 awaits the winners. It is worth noting that while the current event is the first Logitech G Adaptive Esports Competition that was open to the public, the company did host an invitation-only event held last year. However, given the positive reception of the said tournament, Logitech G and its partners decided to open the competition to the public, giving gamers with disabilities a platform to compete.

Logitech G hosted three exhibition matches to allow participants to practice ahead of the main tournament in the run-up to the main event. These exhibitions took place in August 2021 and were a 2v2 single-elimination Rocket League competition, where winners received Logitech G gear and cash prizes. The Logitech G Adaptive Esports Rocket League Tournament is separated into three events one for players in Europe, another in North America, and one for those living in Asia-Pacific.
The main objective of Logitech G's Adaptive Esports Competition is to provide a platform for gamers with disabilities to compete. It is worth remembering that one of Logitech G's partners for the event, the AbleGamers Charity, is known for its mission to combat social isolation through video games. For years, the AbleGamers organization has successfully raised funds and awareness and even enlisted the help of famous celebrities such as Ryan Reynolds. In April of this year, Brie Larson also partnered with AbleGamers to raise awareness and show her support to improving accessibility and enable more people with disabilities to play video games.
Given that video games provide gamers with disabilities an opportunity to combat social isolation by connecting with other people, events like the Adaptive Esports Tournament hosted by Logitech G, AbleGamers, and its partners, shine a light on the need for a more inclusive gaming community. Unfortunately, despite video games being popular with people with disabilities, few public esports competitions are specifically designed for the community. However, Logitech G and its partners are looking to fill this gap by providing a safe and inclusive competition series that people with disabilities can participate in and enjoy.
