Adult animation has often had to walk a pretty fine line: it should be grown up enough to appeal to an older audience, but it should still utilize its medium to the fullest extent. Human Resources, the animated spinoff from Netflix's sex-focused Big Mouth, probably leans too far into the term "adult" to be enjoyable to most viewers, but beneath all of its crass, gross, and often overbearing jokes there's a solid story with great characters and surprising emotional heft.
