Xbox Series X Mini Fridge is Real, Coming December for $99

The next generation of consoles from Xbox and PlayStation have brought some incredible improvements to video games. From crystal clear 4K graphics to super-fast SSDs that significantly reduce load times, these new consoles have been a game-changer for those lucky enough to purchase one. In addition to the more powerful hardware, these new consoles have distinct designs, specifically the Xbox Series X.

Released at the end of 2020, the Xbox Series X sported a new look compared to past iterations of Xbox consoles. Shaped like a block, the console had a no-nonsense appearance. While many fans enjoyed this unintrusive design, some thought that the rectangular look of the system resembled a refrigerator. This similarity caused the famous Xbox fridge meme on the internet. However, Xbox has decided to cash in on the meme after deciding to sell an Xbox Series X Mini Fridge.

Recently, Xbox General Manager Aaron Greenberg sent out a tweet unveiling new details about the Xbox Series X Mini Fridge. In the tweet, he revealed that after seeing the popularity of the Mini Fridge idea, Xbox decided to make the meme a reality by releasing the product. Greenberg noted that he had already been testing the unit, and he said that “it works like a champ.”

Some of the details of the design of the Mini Fridge include LED lighting, USB port, and AC and DC power adapters. According to Greenberg, the unit holds 10 12oz beverage cans and contains 2 shelves attached to the door. In addition to these features, the external dimensions of the fridge are 462mm H x 232mm W x 232mm D, while the internal dimensions are 352.3mm H x 174mm W x 175mm D.

Beyond giving more details about the upcoming product, Xbox revealed how fans could purchase one of these mini fridges. The company announced that pre-orders for the product begin on October 19, with units arriving at retailers in December. In addition, Xbox fans learned that the price of the mini fridge is $99.99 and is being sold exclusively at Target in the US.

Besides this mini fridge, the company already made a full-size Xbox Series X Fridge. At 6-foot tall and 400 pounds, this product was a functional refrigerator that looked identical to an Xbox Series X. However, it seems like this new mini fridge design from Xbox might have a larger audience due to its smaller size.

It will be interesting to see if this Xbox Series X mini fridge will be easier to find than the Xbox Series X. However, that shouldn’t be too hard to do as Microsoft’s next-gen console has remained hard to find ever since its launch last November.
